چکیده

The tea mosquito bug (TMB), Helopeltis theivora (Hemiptera: Miridae) is a polyphagous pest causing serious economic loss in plantations of north east India. push-pull companion cropping system can be used as component integrated management to control the pest. We examined host plant choice H. for Duranta erecta (Lamiales: Verbenaceae), Senna tora (Fabale: Fabaceae), Lawsonia inermis (Myrtales: Lythraceae), Psidium guajava Myrtaceae) and Melastoma malabathricum Melastomataceae) including primary host, Camellia sinensis (Ericales: Theaceae) using two-choice olfactometric bioassay. growth index relative were calculated different plants. preferred odor released from mechanically damaged leaves C. P. guajava. further study on biochemical constituents all plants reflected role soluble sugar, total flavonoids terpenoids cues preference by which indicate scope electroantennographic assessment future. information generated utilized trap or formulating approaches theivora.

Calciphytoliths (calcium oxalate crystals) analysis for the identification of decayed tea plants (Camellia sinensis L.)

The history of tea is poorly known, mainly due to the questionable identification of decayed tea plants in archaeological samples. This paper attempts to test the utility of calciphytoliths (calcium oxalate crystals) for the identification of tea in archaeological samples. It provides the first survey of the macropatterns of calciphytoliths in several species of Theaceae and common non-Theaceae...

Inhibition of xanthine oxidase by catechins from tea (Camellia sinensis).

Some epidemiological studies have associated tea drinking with several health benefits, while other such studies have been inconclusive. The liver enzyme, xanthine oxidase (XO) produces uric acid and reactive oxygen species (ROS) during the catabolism of purines. Excess of the former can lead to gout and of the latter to increased oxidative stress, mutagenesis and possibly cancer. Polyphenols a...

Elucidation of Differential Accumulation of 1-Phenylethanol in Flowers and Leaves of Tea (Camellia sinensis) Plants.

1-Phenylethanol (1PE) is a major aromatic volatile in tea (Camellia sinensis) flowers, whereas it occurs in a much smaller amounts in leaves. Enzymes involved in the formation of 1PE in plants and the reason why 1PE differentially accumulates in plants is unknown. In the present study, enzymes in the last step leading from acetophenone to 1PE were isolated from tea flowers by traditional bioche...

The Synergists Action of Piperonyl Butoxide on Toxicity of Certain Insecticides Applied against Helopeltis Theivora Waterhouse (heteroptera: Miridae) in the Dooars Tea Plantations of North Bengal, India

Higher efficacy of mixture of insecticides with synergists piperonyl butoxide (PB) was reported in controlling in the Dooars population of Helopeltis theivora Waterhouse. Therefore, the use of synergists as one of the countermeasures against the insecticide resistance problem of H. theivora is recommended. The combination of deltamethrin +PB (piperonyl butoxide), quinalphos +PB and imidacloprid...
